Fun with my rocking horse!

Emily wants to send a BIG THANK YOU to Granddad Miller for her Christmas rocking horse. As you can see from the attached video, she has figured out how to make it rock. She frequently goes up to it and tries to climb on. It is still a little big for her, but we know she'll grow into it in no time! Enjoy this super cute clip! Rock on Emily!

Bath Time!

Check out this new footage of Emily at bath time. She was working on lining up all of her bath toys (and shampoo) on the edge of the tub, but when they kept falling off, she was totally amused. Ultimately, she ended up just throwing things out of the tub which she apparently found equally amusing. Watch for the part where she talks to her shampoo bottle. Too funny.

Snow in Raleigh!

Emily had her first snow day today! Raleigh got hit with about 5-6 inches of snow last night and today. Unfortunately, I did not get Emily a snow suit or boots since I was told Raleigh almost never gets snow. So she did not get to play in the snow but I did get out to take a few pictures. Check it out! Even our new little bushes up by the front windows are snowed under! Snow in Raleigh. Who'd a thought?

Bounce & Spin

From the time she figured out how to use her legs, Emily has loved to bounce. When she was really little she bounced in her exersaucer. When she got a little bigger, Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Nathan loaned her a doorway jumper. More recently, on Emily's first birthday, Grandma and Grandpa Heintz bought her the Fisher Price Bounce & Spin Zebra. Unfortunately, her legs were not quite long enough to allow her to bounce. Well, she has grown a little more and has now completely figured out her bouncy zebra. As you will see, she loves it...and she can do it with one hand! Enjoy this little clip. It makes me smile every time.

Emily's Second Christmas

Daniel and I had a wonderful Christmas, but no one enjoyed the holidays more than Emily. She is big enough now to really experience all the fun of the season. She liked opening presents...well, she liked taking the bows off packages. She loved visiting all of her extended family. She loves her new toys and clothes. Yes, Santa was generous. Her favorite Santa gifts were a beautiful wooden rocking horse straight from Santa's (Granddad Miller) workshop and a toddler sized arm chair with a red gingham cover. Note that Zoey shares Emily's arm chair when Emily is not sitting in it. See pics of Emily's new gifts above.

Emily got tons and tons of other gifts too:

Clothes (I think maybe 10 new outfits)

Books (about a dozen)

Toys (too numerous to count)

New blanket and crib sheet

Stuffed friends

Toddler bowl with spoon and spork

Shoes (4 pairs)

Money (mommy & daddy's favorite gift for EE since she has soooo much)

Clearly Emily must have been a very good girl this year. She is enjoying learning all kinds of new things. She can pull a pull toy (good thing since she has 4 now), roll/throw a ball, knock over stacks of blocks, climb stairs and point to things she wants. She is trying to say some new words too. We have been working on ball and tonight we tried "boom" everytime she knocked over blocks. She is doing really great. Can you tell how proud we are of our baby girl? Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

Happy New Year!
