The Full Toddler Experience

We are starting to experience all that toddlerhood has to offer. Some of it is really great and some...well, not so much. Emily had her first official temper tantrum at Chili's on Saturday night. It was so bad that I had to take my dinner to go in a little box. It was not a fun experience. On the positive side, she is learning so much so fast and it is really exciting. She has graduated into real tennis shoes with rubber soles. She had been wearing the leather bottomed ones. Anyway, this morning, while wearing her footed pj's, she proudly brought me her new shoes. Much to my surprise, she sat down and motioned for me to put them on for her. It was too cute not to catch on film.

Playground!

It was nice and warm on Saturday so Daniel and I found a little playground right down the street and took Emily out for some fun. She liked the swings, the slide, going under all the equipment and, of course, the sandbox. Mommy and daddy had a great time watching her play! We'll be going back a lot, I'm sure.

Just Because

I snapped these pictures the other morning before work just because I thought Emily looked especially cute. I just love these little patchwork pants. She got the little white sweater from Great Grandma Miller for Christmas and I thought it was just adorable on her. As you may be able to see, her hair (especially on top) is getting really long. Stay tuned. I think there will be first hair cut pictures posted sometime soon!

Playing Outside

Raleigh is having picture perfect weekend weather. Today it was almost 70 and tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer. We took advantage of the warm weather (and sunshine) and took Emily out for a walk in the park and then we let her go outside and play in our backyard. Last time we had warm weather she was really still too little to go out. So, this was really the first time she was able to go out and walk in the grass and check things out. It was really cute because she was really nervous about stepping off the cement patio into the grass. I guess that little step down is really scary. She had a great time. In fact, the first time we told her it was time to go in, she cried. We're planning to take her back out tomorrow. We have determined that we need some outside toys for the summer...plastic slide some balls, etc. In the meantime, you will see that she is enjoying checking out our bushes. She also had a great time collecting some left over leaves from the fall and bringing them to mommy. I think I had about a half dozen or so at one point. She seems to be into sharing at the moment...at least sharing dead leaves fromt the yard.

Learning to Use a Spoon

Emily has started to try to use her spoon and spork. First attempts were made on Friday night with some applesauce while wearing a short sleeve shirt. She really did not do too badly. She managed to get several bites in her mouth.
