Disney World - Day 2 Magic Kingdom

After a good night's sleep it was time to hit the park again and we had a full agenda today!  The park was not crowded at all so we headed straight to Fantasyland to start our adventures.  First stop, Winnie the Pooh!  I'm not sure why, but Emily was into Pooh this year and really wanted to ride.

  

When we came off the Pooh ride, we found Cinderella's stepsisters posing for pictures, so we had to stop.  There was barely any line and even the daddies got in on the action!

  

 After meeting these two, we took a quick trip on It's A Small World.  That's a favorite of everyone!

 

When we finished our ride and headed back out into Fantasyland, we ran into none other than the Fairy Godmother! In all of our many trips to Disney, we have never seen her out and about so this was a real treat.  We had to stop for this too.

Continuing on our adventures in Fantasyland, we also rode Dumbo, Peter Pan and the carousel...and all before lunch!  We loved the short lines!

  

We had lunch at Be Our Guest and everyone appreciated the chance to sit down, cool off, have some "grey stuff" and restore some energy before continuing on our day of fun.

We didn't have to go far before finding our next stop - Enchanted Tales with Belle.  This year Abby and Josie got parts in the show, but Emily didn't.  She was a little disappointed, but she handled it well. Last year she got to be the Beast, one of the main characters.  A short walk down the path led us to the Little Mermaid ride and Ariel's grotto for a meet and greet!

After lots of quality time in Fantasyland, we ventured out to Adventureland to close out our park time for the day.  We rode the magic carpets with Aladdin, Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise!

  

  

Believe it or not, after finishing our adventures in Adventureland we STILL had time for a trip through some of our favorite rides in Tomorrowland including...

Buzzlightyear's Space Ranger Spin!

  

Astro Orbiter!

  

and Tomorrowland Speedway too (a favorite of mine).

We got ALLL those rides in before 5pm when we had to clear out to make way for the Halloween party.  We did not get tickets for tonight so we went back to the resort, grabbed some dinner and then hit the pool.  Such an amazing day!

Disney World - Day 1 Magic Kingdom

We look forward to our Disney vacations more than any other, I think....or at least I do.  We've been five times now and I always wonder how the trips could possibly be different every year, and yet, they are.

This year we caught an early morning flight.  we landed in Orlando at 10:30am and we were checked into our room and sitting down to lunch by 12:30.  It was amazing.  The early arrival also made a big difference in how much time we got in the park on the first day. In prior years we arrived basically in time for dinner and maybe a couple of rides.

   

The park was a little busy when we first arrived.  We attempted to ride the People Mover right off the bat, but it was closed!  Due to the longer lines and extremely hot temperatures, we started off at Carousel of Progress.  The good news was that it HAD TO get better from there.  And it did.

While we were in Tomorrowland we also hit up Laugh Floor with the characters from Monster's Inc and Mickey's Philharmagic. And then, what luck!  People Mover was open!!

   

By this point it was time for our FastPass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and this year everyone got to ride because Josie was tall enough!

Our first (only half) day  wasn't only full of rides...we also met Princesses - Rapunzel and Tiana too!

We grabbed a quick dinner at the Starlite Cafe and then headed out for a couple rounds on Space Mountain, a trip down Splash Mountain and a whirl on the tea cups before grabbing a spot for Wishes.  It was a great first day!

   

  

Summer Wrap Up

End of August 2016

Even though school started, summer was not over yet and there were still some fun times to have.  We couldn't let this summer end with Emily still on her "training wheels removed" Disney Princess bike.  It was WAY too small for her and the kids in the neighborhood are riding bikes more as they get older.  So, Emily, Daddy and Granddad headed out in search of something more age and size appropriate and this was the result!  She loves riding it and it is super cute!

We also had time to get in a few more summer weekend play dates before the summer ended. Emily and Madison made a lemonade stand and hosted a lemonade party for all of the Beanie Boo friends. Everyone had a great time.

    

We also got in a few more pool trips with mermaid tails AND a visit from the shave ice truck too!

It was definitely a fun summer.  But, now that the pool is closed and school is in session, I'm ready for cooler days and all things Pumpkin Spice!
