Emily turned 9 at Disney World! Wow! I can't even believe she is 9. It is so true that the days can sometimes seem long, but the years are so very short. And, I can't believe we spent her birthday at Magic Kingdom. Double wow!
Since it was her birthday, we let Emily plan our whole day. We started with an 8:00am appointment at Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. She opted not to get a dress this year as she had been eyeing a Belle dress at Chasing Fireflies for some time. We brokered a deal that if she passed on the dress at BBB, we would order her the one from the Chasing Fireflies. Turned out to be a good deal because the one from Chasing Fireflies was FAR superior and only a little bit more expensive.
Anyway, we were up and out early and arrived promptly at the castle at 8:00am. Once again this year, Emily picked colored hair things for her hair. She loved the purple. I, on the other hand, did not love it so much. But it was her day, so...
When her makeover was over, she was treated to a photo shoot at Castle Couture, which she really enjoyed.
After getting hair, nails, make-up and photos done, we were able to sneak in 2 rides on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - one in the stand by line and then another with our Fast Pass before heading back to the castle for breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table.Luckily Emily has learned to eat scrambled eggs now and even Mickey waffles so that makes this breakfast very enjoyable for her now. We also met all the princesses too, of course.
We also were quite surprised to receive a special delivery during our breakfast. A birthday cupcake from Cinderella! Such a memorable start to her special day at MK!
With full tummies, we ventured back out into the park and found that it had become very crowded. It wasn't a huge deal to us, though, as we still had a couple of Fast Passes to use including Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. We were also able to ride a few things with shorter lines including People Mover (although even that line got as long as I have ever seen it later in the day),
When things got really crazy, we got out of the park for a while and rode the monorail over to the Grand Floridian to see the life-sized gingerbread and buy some pieces of gingerbread for ourselves (shaped like Mickey, of course). It was amazing and absolutely HUGE! I couldn't even believe it.

Daddy surprised us several weeks before the trip when he bought us tickets for the Wishes Dessert Party in the rose garden viewing area for Emily's birthday. The seating area is definitely a prime fireworks viewing area. As usual, the desserts were tiny and super fun, not to mention tasty, but with as busy as the park was, the biggest perk that came with out ticket was the viewing area right in front of the castle.
The fireworks were just as amazing as always. And, wouldn't you know it? During the fireworks, Dan scored another Fast Pass for Buzzlightyear so as soon as the fireworks were over, we hopped one more ride! We definitely made the most out of very minute on this trip. I cannot wait to come back!
