We were not done with our fun on the water just because we had to turn in the pontoon. Nope, not yet. Since the weather was so amazing, we headed down to rent kayaks and keep the fun going.
Three singles later, we were back on the water and paddling off for more adventure. This trip was really nice because, while it was still definitely warm, it wasn't as hot as when we did this in August.
We decided to paddle through my favorite little tunnel and then down to the cabin area. The colors were so beautiful and it made for a wonderful trip. I worried that maybe boating in pants (no bathing suits) might be a challenge, but we stayed surprisingly dry with only the occasional drips from paddles coming up out of the water.
I was really taken with all the leaves floating on or just below the surface of the water. They were all really beautiful, but here are a couple of my favorites. I love how the sun sparkled on the water on some of them and in the first one, the water reflected the sky.
When we finished on the kayaks, it was time to head back to the cottage and make dinner. Emily made a visit to our "beach" while dinner was cooking. I was able to capture these pics during the "golden hour" right before sunset. I love how everything has a beautiful autumn golden orange hue. Beautiful way to close out our day.
