This year for the annual Cacapon trip, we tried something different. Instead of renting a bunch of little cabins, we all went in together and rented a big house just a couple miles away from the park. Unfortunately, duties called at the office so I did not get to go this year, but I am told the house was a big hit.
Sadly, though, the weather was NOT. It was chilly and rainy all weekend and the kids did not get to get outside that much at all. That made having the house that much more valuable! Everyone had kind of a lazy morning around the house.

Once everyone was up and at it, they all headed to the lodge for the family meeting. As you can see, everyone found it riveting. Thank goodness for WiFi.
After the meeting, the weather cleared for a bit, but in the category of more bad news, the kids discovered that all of the video games in the lodge were out of order! They were pretty bummed.
When the rain returned, it was time to go back to the house and get ready for the cookout. There was also hot tub time for all!! That was Emily's favorite part of the trip this year. Not sure if we'll be doing the house again next year or back the "camping" in the cabins. Apparently there are pluses and minuses to both. Emily liked "camping" but it seems the grown ups rather liked the nicer accommodations in the house.
