Before school let out for the year, Emily started a campaign among her friends to go to Kings Island for a day this summer. Typically, middle schoolers are not the most organized bunch, but they managed to work it out and the date was set for Saturday, June 19! At first the weather looked like it would be great, but as we got closer to the date, more and more rain was in the forecast. In fact, when we woke up, it was pouring rain. But, much to my surprise and great delight, when we got ready to leave for the park the clouds started clearing and by the time we got to the park, the rain was gone completely! It felt like a miracle.
While we waited for all the kids and parents to arrive, we headed down to the carousel (the only ride grandma would ride). Personally, I love the carousel.

Once all the kids arrives, we were off for roller coasters - Fast Lane in hand! Best purchase ever! Our first rides were all over in the Action Zone - Invertigo, Delirium, Drop Zone and Banshee. All super fun rides! I was only able to make it through 2 before I had to sit out. Getting old is the pits. But the kids rode and rode and laughed and laughed. It was incredible to watch.
Once they rode everything there was to ride in this first section, we headed off to Coney Mall. The kids rode the Racers, Flight of Fear and the new giga-coaster, Orion!
Then it was time for a quick bite to eat... Ok, that hot dog wasn't exactly what we were expecting.
Then it was time for a quick trip to Snoopy Land to cool off on Race for Your Life Charlie Brown! The kids got totally drowned and they could not have been happier.
