February Canaan Trip

February 4-6, 2022

We had to miss the January Canaan trip because Emily went to the Emerge weekend with her school friends, but she had a fantastic time.  I think the little break from this trip also made her that much more excited to come back this weekend.  The weather was pretty good, although very cold.  Friday evening it was about 10 degrees.  Saturday it warmed up to a balmy 19 with snow showers most of the day, but by Saturday evening it was down to about 8 degrees.  Luckily there was no wind and no snow so it did not feel quite as cold as it could have.  

The Friday night show was good and then the kids enjoyed pizza and headed back to their cabin.  Saturday we all headed into Thomas to get coffee and snacks at Tip Top and do a little browsing.  Emily got some new stickers for her notebooks and a cool new pen.

   

  

Then on Saturday night the kids had one final show (in the arctic tundra).  This was actually Emily's best skate of the weekend!  And of course, I did not video it. *eyeroll* After skating, we headed down to a new restaurant - Mama Mia's - for dinner.  As luck would have it, they had a TV right in the dining room area showing the Olympics and the women's short program as part of the team event.  The kids made a beeline right for the TV.  It was perfect.

   

   

Then on Sunday, Emily, Johie and Sarah stuck around and went skiing.  They had a really good time and the weather could not have been better.
