CFSC Spring Show

Sunday, May 11, 2025

Continuing with our crazy spring, it was time for the Club spring show.  I feel like we were just at the Christmas show and yet here we are again!  This year, the theme was Hollywood so anything from a movie or Hollywood artist worked for music.  Emily was actually hoping to get a Disney theme (believe it or not) but the rest of the Junior Board out voted her.  Heidi's group number was music from The Wiz.  I have no clue how these outfits figured in.

Emily skated to a medley from Romeo & Juliet.  It was really stunning and she had a beautiful skate!  These pictures really do not do her skate justice.  The stupid plexiglass always blurs the pictures.

Emily also helped with the Learn to Skate number this year and I think she kind of enjoyed it.

After the show, we enjoyed the usual post-show "banquet."  This year it was Qdoba (not Emily's favorite) but I brought crock pot pasta and there were some other sides so everyone definitely found something to eat.  It is hard to believe she only has 2 Club shows left in her CFSC career.  I sure hope the time goes slowly.

Mother's Day

Sunday, May 11, 2025

It is kind of nice that Mother's Day and the Club spring show coincide on a lot of years because that means we all get to celebrate Mother's Day together - three generations.  We didn't do too much since it was show day.  We exchanged gifts, had a nice cookout and just relaxed.  My big gift this year was a new electronic calendar called Skylight.  It also holds our weekly menu and acts as a digital frame.  It is really kind of slick.  It helps to coordinate all of our schedules in one place.

Junior Prom 2025

Saturday, May 3, 2025

Get ready for a photo dump.  Tonight was Emily's Junior Prom!  In the last couple of weeks leading into this big night all the plans finally came together.  Emily was going to the dance with Atley and they joined up with Gabby's group for dinner and then they all went to the dance together.  But first, everyone met at the old Sunrise Museum for pictures.  Over an hour of pictures.  I had trouble narrowing these down there were so many good ones.

Obviously, I wasn't there, but from the pics Emily had, it sure looked like everyone had fun at dinner and the dance!

Then, after the dance came the best part - GIRL SLEEPOVER at Gabby's house!  Emily was just as excited about the sleepover as she was the dance.  I got to participate by making some goodies (midnight snacks and cozy goodies) and the girls had a blast!  Perfect junior prom was officially in the books!
