Christmas Day

I think we must be in the prime years for Christmas fun and magic.  Being 6 at Christmas must be awesome.  Wish I could remember more about my 6th Christmas.  We started Christmas morning with the opening of Emily’s stocking.  It’s funny, because there is just something about stockings – even though no big gifts are really in tem – they are still so much fun.  Some goodies in Emily’s stocking included a small Sofia the First doll, malted milk balls, silly string and a Build a Bear gift card.

After stockings it was time for breakfast.  Emily had chocolate reindeer donuts (thank you Pinterest) and the rest of us had baked gingerbread french toast.  Then it was on to the gifts.  Some of Emily’s favorite gifts from us included her new Ugg sweater boots, a Pinkalicious game and a bathrobe (yes, a bathrobe).  Some of her favorite Santa gifts included the Sofia the First castle and royal family and a Strawberry Shortcake bakery/lemonade stand (with lemonade kit for the summer).
It took us basically morning to open gifts.  Fine by me.  I love gifts.  And because we did our big meal on Christmas Eve, we spent most of the rest of Christmas Day assembling new toys, playing bakery stand and just having a nice time.  It was a great Christmas.
