Hollywood Studios Day

So this morning we were up really, really early.  We were hoping to get to Hollywood Studios at least an hour before official park opening in hopes of scoring a boarding group for the brand new Rise of the Resistance ride in Galaxy's Edge.  Our goal was to get a boarding group and ride Smuggler's Run before Daniel and Emily's appointment to make light sabres.  If there is one thing I am proud of in our many Disney adventures it is that we are able to set Disney goals, and reach them.  This morning was no exception.  We arrived at 7:00am (they soft opened the park at 8:00am) and we got boarding group 51!  Then as soon as the park opened, we headed straight to Smuggler's Run. We were able to get on the ride after just a few minutes and Grandma even rode too!  Daniel and Emily were co-pilots and Grandma and I were engineers.
As soon as we finished in Galaxy's Edge, we were off to Toy Story Land.  Our first stop was Midway Mania!  We all like this ride a lot.
While in Toy Story Land, we made a quick stop for breakfast at Woody's Lunch Box. We just got a couple of Nutella stuffed french toast kid's meals with tater tots and two of the holiday apple cinnamon toaster treats (homemade pop-tarts).  It was all sooo good! Hard to believe we got all of this in before the 9:15am light sabre appointment.
Then it was time for the Daniel and Emily party of two to go make their light sabres.  They seemed to really enjoy the process and were all smiles when they finished.  Daniel made his light sabre for the dark side.  Emily made hers for the Resistance (good guys).  A great (albeit expensive) Daddy/Daughter date.

While Daddy and Emily were building light sabres, Grandma and I took a holiday decoration tour and shopped in the shops.

When we all finally reunited, we headed off to our Fastpass for Rockin' Roller Coaster.  Grandma had to sit this one out, but luckily it was a quick line.
As we were finishing on Rockin' Roller Coaster, our boarding group was called for Rise of the Resistance.  We had about an hour before our lunch reservation so, we went back to Galaxy's Edge.  Rise of the Resistance was definitely an experience. There were multiple parts to the experience including parts that were more like rides and parts that were more like character encounters (but, spoiler alert - the dark side doesn't sign autographs).  It was really neat.

We were a little late to lunch after our adventure, but they held our table which was good because we were hungry and very excited for Minnie's Holiday Dine!

After lunch, we headed straight to see Beauty & The Beast.  That show never disappoints and today was no exception.

As soon as we finished clapping for this show, we made a mad dash for the Frozen Sing A-Long and got in just in time.  We took almost the very last seats in the auditorium - not the greatest seats (really close to the front but on the farthest end), but good enough to see the show and sing along!  And they even added a few songs from Olaf's Holiday Adventure!

When the signing was over it was time to head home and rest before coming back for the Jingle Bell Jingle BAM show and dessert party!  YAY!
