Today was our last day at the beach. Sad face. This trip has been really low-key in part because it was just us and in part because of Coronavirus and things being closed or limited. We could see crowds starting to pick up at the resort and around town as the week went on so people are definitely coming out again. I guess that is both good and bad. Cases are rising, but people do not have much tolerance for staying home anymore.
We had back up plans in place for today due to a very large chance of rain, particularly in the morning. Much to our surprise, we awoke to sunshine again! So off to the beach! We started with our morning beach walk and found a new friend! A Great Egret! I think these are so beautiful! I didn't get and pictures of seagulls or sandpipers this year. They just weren't a prevalent on the beach as they are in some years.
Then it was time for beach relaxing, castle building and "cupcake" making. We just love this spot on the beach.
The dinner plan for the night was to pick up Craft Taco and eat at home. Emily had left over tortellini and garlic bread so it worked out well for everyone. Then after dinner, we made a run to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. We picked it because we traditionally have donuts from Dunkin' on the morning we leave the beach. Plus, as a bonus, today was National Donut Day! We have to celebrate that!
Then, as a perfect ending to our vacation week, someone on the beach was setting off fireworks! They even did them at a respectable time so it wasn't while most people were trying to go to sleep. They were't huge, but enough that it was fun to go out on the balcony and see them. Perfect ending!
It was also a full moon - called the strawberry moon. It was really pretty and kind of orange/pink in color. Contrast it with the nearly full moon from just one night earlier.
