Graduation Gifting & Celebration at Home

Thursday, May 19, 2022

We decided to do gifts before graduation, and after the parade so that we would have a little more time to relax and enjoy them.  So, once the parade and lunch were over, we came home and opened gifts.  Grandma Heintz gave Emily some money and a new little Kate Spade wallet to go with her new purse.

Then it was our turn.  We got her a couple of small things - a new phone case, graduation cap earrings, a dress, some tiny plants and a BCS Class of 2022 frame.  Then I also gave her a Sandra Boynton books (her favorite author when she was little) signed by all of her BCS teachers since kindergarten.  She really loved it.

Then it was time for her big gift.  This one took a little thought.  Her absolute favorite skater is Kamila Valieva of Russia.  Actually, her top 4-5 favorite skaters are all Russian...which is a little complicated right now since Russia invaded Ukraine and they are kind of on the world's bad list right now.  Anyway, I hunted around a bit and finally found a seller in China who specialized in sports memorabilia so we got her two signed prints of Kamila Valieva.  Her reaction was priceless...there were even a few tears.

After presents, we were off for her fancy celebration dinner at The Chop House.  This girl loves steak (almost as much as pasta) and it was fun to get dressed up and go out for a fancy meal.

And of course, no celebration is complete without cake!  Congratulations sweet girl!  We are very proud of you and know that you are going to do even more amazing things in high school.
