Today we cashed in our rain check for Kings Island fun! This year the park was back in full working order and even opened at 10am! So we were there and ready to start the fun. This year the park was also celebrating its 50th Anniversary! It is just a little older than me!
The girls wasted no time heading straight to the coasters. First stop - Invertigo, followed by Delirium, Drop Tower, The Bat and Banshee.
It really helped to have FastLane on this trip because after we finished in this section of the park it was pretty busy. Our next section was Coney Mall for The Racers, Orion, Flight of Fear, bumper cars and some games (of course)! They won squishies - one taco and one squishy phone! HA!!
We grabbed a quick lunch at the Fest Haus and then headed back out for more rides and fun! This time we hit the swings,

Lucky for me, by this point they were ready to slow down a bit. So we headed off to Planet Snoopy for a while. I have such happy memories of all the rides Emily used to do in this section of the park. It makes me happy that they still have a few things she will ride in this part so we can go back. Sadly, though, they did not bring back the barnyard petting zoo this year.

In the spirit of still slowing down, our next stop was the carousel - a personal favorite of mine. Since horses were in short supply, Grandma opted for the carriage on this ride.
While the girls rode some of the rides, we had a chance to get a few pictures of all the pretty things at the park and this year, with the 50th Anniversary celebration, there were a lot of pretty things.
We had dinner at The Brewhouse complete with one of the giant soft pretzels and lots of tater tots! Yum! By this point, everyone was pretty tired. FastLane passes really give you a lot of rides for the money. So, before heading out of the park we rode one last ride - The Kings Island Miami Valley Railroad! The kids caught up on their texting and Grandma and I just enjoyed the views.
What a wonderful trip we had! From the weather, to the rides, to the food, to the company, everything was just perfect. To top off our trip, on the way home we made one more stop at Graeter's...because of course we did. Happy 50th Kings Island. Here's to 50 more...and the start of summer '22!
