Antarctica: The Empire of the Penguin

Wednesday, August 13
Our last stop on our penguin adventure at Sea World was a ride into Antarctica: The Empire of the Penguin.  It was a little round raft thing that you got into and then you were pushed and turned to face various screens with pictures of penguins and Antarctica.  We took the "wild path" meaning that our boat was going to be a little more animated and quick moving.  Emily liked that.  We were whisked through several different scenes and pictures and then it happened.  A door flew open and there were real live penguins everywhere!  Rock hopper penguins, King penguins, Emperor penguins and more!  And they were wonderful.
The best part (well one of the best part) was that after you sat in your boat and watched the penguins behind the glass, they let you out and you got to go inside to see the penguins up close.  No touching this time, but it was still amazing.  But it was also very, very cold (since these penguins are all the Antarctic type).

After a short viewing inside, we were ushered down stairs where we could watch the penguins under water too.  It was much warmer (ahhh) and it was really fun to watch them swim around.  They are fast!  It was definitely an AMAZING penguin adventure!
He was a super fast little swimmer!
