Visit to Dayton for Labor Day

Labor Day Weekend
August 30 - September 2, 2013

Dan was on call for Labor Day weekend so Emily and I made a trip to Dayton to visit Grandma and Grandpa Heintz.  We did lots of fun stuff.  Friday night we hung out at Grandma's house.  She made Emily a pizza just like they have at Boonshoft and Emily LOVED it.  She played with it all night.

On Saturday, we headed to Magic Castle for some playtime and games.  Emily did very well and earned herself a bunch of tickets which she immediately traded for prizes.  A good start to the morning.  From there we had lunch at Burger King (the one with the play place, of course) and then got haircuts (Mommy and Emily).  You can tell from these pics that Emily was long overdue for a trim.

After we finished our morning many adventures, we went back to Grandma's, played in the backyard with tubs of water and had pizza for dinner.  Yum!  Emily was also allowed to play with Grandma's packing peanuts. There are some things that you really can only do at Grandma's.
The plan for Sunday included a stop at Steak and Shake for lunch (Emily likes the little paper hats) followed by a trip to Boonshoft.
Steak-N-Shake!

It is kind of funny, really.  Every time we go to Boonshoft Emily has a different favorite thing.  On this visit she was very into the tall playground (which she is now plenty tall enough to navigate on her own) and the stuffed animal vet clinic.  Not sure why exactly, but on this trip these were the places where she spent most of her time. She also liked the courthouse and jail.  The jail, nice.

We wrapped up our visit on Monday with a Mommy shopping trip to The Greene.  Emily stayed home with Grandma initially, but then she brought her up in time to play in the water park and have lunch at Panera before we had to hit the road for home.  It was a fun trip and I was glad we went!
