This is the first year Emily was invited to participate in the Charleston Figure Skating Club Christmas show. She was asked to skate in a number with her coach, Amanda, and 8 other girls. This year's show theme was Christmas Around the World and all the participants skated to songs from different parts of the world. Emily's group got Russia and the girls were all sugar plums in the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies. Then as their song ended, their coach skated her number. The girls worked really hard on the show but had very little chance to practice skating with the music. The ice time is just so limited for that kind of thing. But in the end it came together really well and the girls looked awesome!
Emily skated very well and she was very proud of her performance. She even smiled which is a big deal for her. She concentrates and listens and focuses on skating and she forgets to have fun. But it was clear in this show that she was having fun.
