Today was Emily's 10th Birthday party - Emoji themed! She invited all the girls from her class at school as well as Kelsie from the rink and Reagan, Naomi, Eva, Abby and Josie from the neighborhood. Since we had her party on Thanksgiving weekend, there were a few that could not attend but we still ended up with 13 girls total - a really nice group.
We started off the party with Emoji bracelet making and a color your own Emoji drawstring bag craft. The girls really seemed to like both!
Then it was time to eat. I love setting up the food table for Emily's parties. That is the most fun part of the planning. This year we had tiny ham and cheese sandwiches, popcorn, cheese balls, applesauce, Emoji graham crackers, "poop" brownies (cutest thing on the table), white chocolate Oreos with Emoji faces and then cupcakes and ice cream (with Emoji sprinkles) for the singing of "Happy Birthday."
After the kids ate, it was time for some photo booth action. These girls loved playing with the Emoji's on sticks and posing for pictures. So much fun!
Then we played a rousing game of "Pin the 'Like' on the Emoji." I would have thought they might have been too old for this kind of game, but apparently not. They definitely liked it.
Then it was time for presents. She got so many nice things. She got stuffed animals, art kits, Bath & Body Works stuff, gift cards, a Lego set, new pjs, a decorative pillow and so much more. She got a lot of very nice things.
After all the gifts were opened it was time for cupcakes and ice cream...more sugar!
Luckily, after sugaring them up, the weather was nice so they all went out to play tag in the clubhouse parking lot. I'd say it was a pretty successful 10th birthday celebration...even if it was a little early. I can't believe she is already almost 10. I can't even begin to process how the last 10 years have gone so quickly. Slow down birthdays!!!
