International Skating!

Today work started.  We did get to sleep in a bit in the morning and enjoy breakfast by the pool (with the ocean view) before our first meeting with the executive committee. It ran a little long, but luckily we packed some Uncrustables in our suitcase.  So, we grabbed those and as soon as the meeting was over, we headed across town to the Palais Des Sports Jean Boudin to check out the ice rink.  Wow, it was really beautiful inside.  About 2/3 of the rink had windows and the views were amazing.  Emily skated the full session (I watched a work demo for some new work software).  I wonder if skating here officially makes Emily an international skater???

   

   

When we finished at the rink, we headed back to the hotel to change and get ready for our staff dinner. Emily was excited to meet Dean's (my boss) kids.  We got ready a little early and had time to pop into a local patisserie to grab some treats for later.  This turned out to be our favorite patisserie in Nice.

   

   

Then it was time to meet the crew for dinner.  This was one of our favorite dinners of the trip and the only thing that would have made it better would have been, well, two things actually - a little more airflow (because it was quite warm) and fewer smokers!  Otherwise, it was a great meal and a really fun night!
