US Figure Skating Museum

Today Emily and Heidi were up and out early for another freestyle session, but this time at a different local rink.  The sessions at World Ice Hall were full.  When they got home we ate a quick lunch and then headed into town to find the U.S. Figure Skating Museum and Hall of Fame.

   

   

The museum was very small - not sure what I was expecting - and located right near US Figure Skating headquarters.  It was kinda cool to see the place where all the behind the scenes action happens.  The museum had loads of cool things, but here are a few that I thought were particularly cool:

    

   

   

    

And of course they had a heart-breaking tribute to the athletes and families killed in the crash of AA flight 5342 back in January.

   

After the museum, we headed over to World Arena to sneak a look at where Emily would be skating, check in for the event and see if they had any cool merch.  The arena was amazing, but the only merch they had was a pin.  So of course we got one!
