NYC Drama Trip - Dessert Tour

After a late night on Broadway we slept in a little this morning.  Our room was small, but nice.  Very clean and just enough space.  We even had a little fridge and closet. We couldn't sleep the day away, though because had more big plans!

First stop, Bryant Park.  I read that they had a really cute carousel and it was right around the corner from the hotel.  It opened early (for a Sunday) so we made that our first stop of the day.  The park is small, but the carousel was adorable.  So, we both took a ride!

   

   

After some time in the park we grabbed a small, quick lunch at Panera and then headed out for our Bright Lights, Broadway Bites dessert tour!  We were going to do a cupcake tour in Greenwich Village, but they changed the time so we had to cancel.  But I am so glad we did this one instead because we had lots of fun stops with lots of different kinds of desserts!

After meeting our tour guide, our first stop was Shake Shack!  We didn't get shakes, but we did get chocolate custard and it was tasty!

Our next stop was outside the theater district in Hell's Kitchen.  It was so interesting because we only walked a few blocks and it was like being in a whole different town.  So much quieter.  Not so many tall buildings.  Anyway, next stop was Little Pie Company where we sampled sour cream apple pie - very similar to our family favorite.

 Our next stop was back in the theater district.  We stopped into Junior's for original NY cheesecake!

From there we ventured back to Hell's Kitchen to two more cute little stops - Schmackery's (german chocolate brownies) and Amy's Bread (black and white cookie).

   

Our final stop was at the Times Square Diner for a chocolate egg cream.  I had never heard of a chocolate egg cream, but apparently it is a quintessential NY treat.  As best I could tell it was just  chocolate milk, but there was supposed to be some soda in it somewhere, I think.
