We have been looking forward to this week all summer - Myrtle Beach! This year Emily got to bring Kaylyn along with us for their last hurrah before middle school! I seriously cannot believe I just typed those words - middle school.
Amazingly, with all the flight problems we had this summer, our flight to the beach was on time and completely uneventful. We arrived right on schedule, got our luggage and car and when we arrived at Ocean Watch, our room was ready! Then we got our groceries and were ready for a whole week of sun, sand, pools, relaxation and ice cream!
After moving in and unloading groceries, we took the kids to the beach for a bit to play and seashell hunt. They played and dug in the sand for several hours and then it was time to eat.
Tonight we stayed in and just had pizza. But no night at the beach is complete without ice cream so we headed off to Baskin Robbins and the little beach shop for some boogie boards.
Then we closed out the night with some time at Woodsy treehouse playground...and actually they closed it down! They stayed until the Marriott property folks came and announced that the playground was closed. We crammed a lot into the first day. Can hardly wait to see what we can fit into the rest of the week.
