More Canaan

Saturdays at Canaan are always the most fun days.  This trip was no exception.  It was warmer than usual which was nice for getting out and about in Davis and Thomas, but not so nice for the ice (it was melting and very soft).  The girls slept in a bit at the cabin (apparently they were up until 2:00am) and then before the 2:00pm show they were off to Tip Top in Thomas for coffee and pasteries.  In Emily's case, she was off for her favorite mango smoothie and I got coffee.

   

Then it was time for the afternoon show.  The ice was not great (falls resulted in very, very wet skaters) so toe pick jumps were out, but it was still a great show!

   

   

   

            

Then after the show we headed back into Thomas for more Tip Top and a little shopping.  I'm just telling you, the shop windows and displays in Thomas and Davis definitely rival what you would find in NYC.  They really are terrific!

   

   

Then we hurried back for the 7:00pm show.  The ice had melted even more so for this show, the girls were limited to axels and other single jumps.  But, they were able to still skate the full show and we had a good crowd watching so it was fun!

   

After the show, we headed to Wicked Wilderness for dinner.  It is hard to beat their spaghetti and meatballs.  So good and it was nice to all sit down together for a meal.  What a wonderful trip!
