Today was our first day at sea. We had to get up pretty early to get breakfast and then be ready for the movie premier. We had the very first showing and the movie was The Three Wisest Men - the third and final movie in the Wise Men series. Last year we got to see the premier of Three Wise Men and a Boy. This year's was really just as good. They tried hard to tie up all the loose ends and mostly I think it was successful. I liked the movie - and the series - a lot. Then it was time to stuff some stockings with all the fun pens I made.
After the movie, we went to lunch at this cute little diner themed around race cars (and adjacent to the ship's speedway).
Then after lunch, we had to get changed for our picture with the stars. The line was long, but we got through in about 90 minutes. It was worth it to get the picture.
After our picture, we had some free time so we headed up to the top deck to ride the race cars, but they were closed. So we opted to play some mini golf instead. After our round, we hung around on a quiet part of the deck to just relax and "watch the boat move." It turned out that we had stumbled into a place where they were recording part of the Christmas at Sea series! I quickly moved and stood back, but D stayed in his chair and now might end up in some of the scenes!
We watched for a while and then they seemed to move away...right to the race cars! Now we understood why they were closed. We watched the filming a little longer and when they were finished, I even got a couple shots with the stars!
We also put our names into a lottery to get tickets to one of the small group events. There were 4 that sounded interesting to us - cookie decorating, gift wrapping, a cocktail tasting and a wine tasting. We only put in for the last 2 because we thought stars would be there. We did get picked for the wine tasting, but alas there were no stars. Still, it turned out to be really fun. The 2 people at our table were fun. One of them went to Georgia Tech like Daniel and the other had family that lived in Centerville! Small world! We did end up having a great time, even without the stars.
After the wine tasting, it was time for a Very Merry Conversation panel back up on the pool deck. We loved these panels last year and it was just as fun this year. Plus, we had a great spot to see all the action!
After the show we stuck around to see if we could meet any more stars. I was shocked that we actually did! This time we met Ginna Claire Mason and Jonathan Bennett.
That show (and our star selfies) brought our day at sea to a close. We had a fantastic time! Tomorrow morning, we would wake up in Cozumel for our port day in Mexico!
