Cacapon Day 2

Saturday morning we were up and out pretty early.  The forecast called for rain so we wanted to get the kids out to do some stuff before the rain began.  We started off with a short trip to the playground while it got a little warmer.  Jacob and Emily liked the teeter totter and the swings and slide.

From there, we headed over to the lake for a little while.  Some years the lake is already closed for the season by the time we go, but this year it was still open. The kids did not really "swim" in the water thank goodness) but they enjoyed splashing around and chasing each other.

They played and splashed for about an hour or so until the paddle boats opened up and then we headed out to take a little ride. Emily liked it, but her legs tired quickly.  Ok, truth be told, so did mine, but it was still fun.  As we finished up the paddle boats, the clouds rolled in.  We came in off the water and headed back to the playground a little longer.  Luckily, Emily announced she had to use the bathroom just about the time the skies opened.  So we headed back to the cabin to change (use the bathroom) and relax before heading up to the inn for Grandma Gamble's birthday party.
