Atlantis 2018 - Day Two

Everyone was up and at it pretty early for our first full day. After a quick breakfast in the room, it was off to the beach. Emily loves to swim with all the fish and grandma and I like the white sand and seashells.

After some great beach time, it was time to check into our cabana for the day. We had the same cabana last year and it just worked out so perfectly that we got it again this year.  We love having a place where everyone has a place to stretch out and relax and be close to the water and lazy river.
But what good is water access if you don't use it?  So pretty quickly we were off riding slides and tubing down the river.  The first slide of the trip was The Abyss.  This is Emily and Daddy's favorite slide and it was close to the cabana so that made it really easy.  This slide dumps riders off in a cenote which is super cool and then all around the walls there is an aquarium so it is kind of like you are swimming with them.

The next slide was The Challenger slide on the back side of the Mayan Temple.  I thought for sure Emily was going to win, but if you look at the picture on the right you will see that she started to sit up too soon and that ultimately cost her the race by a few hundredths of a second.  Better luck next ride, kid.  :-)

After a few slides it was time for lunch in the cabana (my favorite part of cabana life), a little rest (ok maybe a lot of rest)...

And then some tubing down the not-so-lazy river.  Weee heeee!!!!!
