We love July 4th and this year was no exception. We had lots of fun plans! We started the day at home making desserts for the evening cookout. Look at the watermelon rice krispie treats Emily and Grandma made! Then after lunch, we headed to the pool for a few hours.
When it started getting busy at the pool, we headed back home to make galaxy tie dye shirts (bleach on a dark navy tee) and regular tie dye dresses with Molly, Abby and Josie. We've had the stuff for a while, but saved it as a fun holiday activity.
Then the kids had time to play on the trampoline with a water filled "wubble." They also had a water balloon fight and used the hose on the swingset to make a water slide. So much summer fun!
After dinner, the kids put bathing suits back on and headed back to the backyard to try out BIG bubbles using special solution Molly made. The bubbles were indeed HUGE and it was so fun! Even Grandma tried it! And, once they were free floating you could blow on them and make bubbles inside of bubbles!
FINALLY it was getting dark. I'm pretty sure this is what childhood summertime looks like...
NOW it was time for fireworks, sparklers and poppers! We had a beautiful night for all of our festivities! Such a wonderful Independence Day!
